How would you recognize a false teacher? We tend to think that false teaching is simply a theological problem. Dr. John teaches from 2 Peter that false teaching is an ethical concern. In other words, we discern heresy not just from what people say, but what people are. "Belief" and "being" are twinned, for good or evil. Danger From Within: Jesus spoke of wolves in sheep's clothing. Paul warned of wolves among the flock. Peter alerts the Church of false teachers. It was a danger for the early church.
