1 in 5 working-age people are currently “economically inactive”, meaning they are out of work but not looking for a job. Since 2019, almost half a million people have simply gone missing from the workforce.
Born and raised in Handsworth, Birmingham, Herman’s early ambition was to be a professional footballer. He played for Great Britain under 15s alongside Paul Scholes before injury forced him to give up his dream. Herman has recently volunteered his services as a mentor to the Government’s Help to Grow Management scheme, launched in August 2021 to help UK business leaders improve productivity and growth.
